Since many years I spend weeks or more per year here for most of the past years. Sabang is a good starting point for tours inside the island, by boat along the coast, on road by Jeepney, by Trike, motorcycle or just walking. Sabang's quiet location and small size makes the village soon appear like a big family. Many visitors I meet again and again. Some stay here for years, other rejoin each year. Sabang is a family place where all is within easy walking distance. No one ever gets lost. With its many cottages - most of them with kitchen, fridge and cable TV - Sabang also is ideal if you wish to stay longer periods and prefer to cook all yourself. All you really need can be found here. Come and enjoy the friendliness of the local population and the natural beauty of this jungle island with its many mountains and beautiful nature sceneries.
Politically Sabang is part of Puerto Galera with its many locations on Mindoro island.
From boat station - Eddie's place - east. A quiet corner of Sabang with many small cottages, a few smaller resorts and SCUBA dive resorts, some with their own private swimming pool for beginners lessons. The east corner of Sabang is rocky.

Above photo shows Sabang West and on far right also the tip of Small Lalaguna. From Sabang boat station toward west we have the actual Sabang Center with a few shops, small super markets, bars, restaurants, Internet cafes and after Big Apple the part of Sabang West with more SCUBA dive resorts and dive shops, resort hotels and cottages starts.

Around the corner of Sabang West is Small Lalaguna - a small laguna with a small beach, a few resort hotels, SCUBA dive resorts and places to eat out.
Typical outrigger boats in different sizes for groups from 6 to 60+ for your private excursions along the coast, snorkeling, photo trips, sightseeing or for private transportation to Batangas, White beach, Puerto Galera or other destinations are available are very low rates.
Natural beauty and love for tropical nature is the reason and purpose of visitors coming to Sabang. More than a dozen SCUBA dive resorts cater to SCUBA divers from Korea, Japan as well as English speaking international divers from Europe and other origins.
All Sabang is traffic-free walking area! Sabang is quiet and clean. The one and only road arriving from Puerto Galera ends in the center and all the rest is easy walking the few hundred meters to Sabang east or west.

Arriving at Sabang's boat station next to Eddie's place - Eddie's Place is a fine 24 hrs full service restaurant with nice food and excellent service and 2 pool tables for Billiard lovers. Eddie's place is where you meet day and night interesting people from all around the world. This is still my preferred place to eat out and above all to have a delicious fresh brewed coffee - ask for fresh brewed else you may get a 2 hours old coffee !!!
Several small shops and small supermarkets offer all selection needed for your vacation! A few restaurants offer a variety of food from American fast food to kind of Italian or kind of European style food. Sabang like all other Philippine tourist destinations is NO gourmet place and that is very particularly valid for Sabang Beach as well. Earlier bakeries - Swiss bakery and Dutch bakery - all have vanished, other attempts by hobby bakers to supply bakery products are in early attempt and learning stage. Bakeries and restaurants come and go, open and close - more the closing stage - for simple lack of quality! If good food, delicious bakery or sweets is important to you, then you definitely are wrong in Sabang.
Mindoro is an island to visit for its natural God-made resources such as nature, flowers, tropical sceneries, ocean views, tropical mountains, rivers and waterfalls! The treasure of natural beauty by far compensates for the lack of gourmet food.
Ocean view very early morning. Get up early, best around 6 AM and start your walks after an early breakfast. Ocean views are most beautiful soon after sunrise like in above picture. In addition - we are in a truly tropical country and the sun is getting HOT. 35-40 degrees Centigrade is normal these days ... noon time in shadow !! Even around 8-9 AM 30+ degrees are normal in the sun.
Many most beautiful scenic views can be experienced just by walking half an hour or more around the tropical lush green neighborhood of Sabang Beach. Above scenic ocean view is just some 20-30 minutes easy walking away.

A half day trip or if you love a few hours longer is the trekking trip to Tukuran. Once you know the directions, you may go again all alone on your own using a local Jeepney to bring you to the parking area. The you walk upriver to Tukuran and enjoy a bath in crystal clear warm tropical mountain river.
