A forum for true diving professionals for exchange of information and data about SCUBA diving and SCUBA diving related resources.
As a retired former PADI MI 11580 - I still love the diving scene even though i totally stopped SCUBA instruction and diving. During the more than 10 years of full time SCUBA instruction - first in the tropics, then in my own PADI training facility in Germany, i was instructor and diver with all my heart and soul and loved my job.
However everything always can be improved, information exchanged and instructors or diving facilities can help each other. Help by exchanging information about resources, new diving techniques, dive spots, regulations and more. But also valuable experiences about continuing SCUBA diver education, repair seminars and diving related workshops.
Many want to become a diving professional others realize their dream. Those among you who have been successful may want to share a brief review of their success. Where and how did you start to dive and what particular diving instructor preparation and final training / exam did you make.
Recommend the good stuff and avoid wasting time with all mistakes. Lets be positive and support all pleasant resources and experiences.
Where did you are are you working - what are the working conditions in various countries as freelance or employed SCUBA instructor or divemaster. Please be free to share anything that might be useful and helpful to the next generation and feel free to publish your questions.
Myself living now in the Philippines - may be i can be of help to some of you ... with information about Philippine diving and resort areas. Or someone want to get a legal antique amphora - Roman or Phoenician ?? i surely can tell you where - as the oceans have an abundance of surprises - to be shared among all.
My own professional diving experiences are limited to some 6500 hrs and similar # of logged dives UW from ice-cold to springs in Florida, rivers in Switzerland or Bavaria, high altitude, UW treasure hunting in fresh water, wrecks as old as Phoenician and Roman, but also wrecks from WW2 and or freighters, shark feeding in the Maledives and more ... waters and oceans between Cozumel, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, Zaire and Thailand have been my home for a while. Now its your turn to enjoy and to help each other.
Please note that this forum for diving professionals is intended be free and open for all - members of any nation, and any diving or diving instructor association even though i was myself a convinced PADI professional ( Florida PADI College 1979 ) - i know that good professionals can be found all over the world in all and every association. Most of my diving colleagues in the Maledives have been NON-PADI from various European associations - and all had fun and safe diving to offer.
