Hi, I'm getting frustrated trying to get normal windows media files to play in Kaffeine. It's a mission! Before I start a website I want to get normal things to work using Linux.

I've tried installing every single codec I can find into /usr/lib/win32, but nothing. I've tried installing MPlayer but there are about a million dependencies that are not covered on the Suse DVD. I've got no idea how to install extra installation sources that work using Yast.

How did YOU learn Linux? Were you self-taught? Or did you have professional training? Is it possible to learn by teaching yourself? If so, what's the best method if you are a complete beginner? What am I doing wrong?

Love,

James
