Only real value created by you and offered to the world is the basis of your life, income and wellbeing of YOUR family
In modern times many always are looking for a short cut - for an easy way to earn money without having to work, a way to let others do YOUR job ... only to open the hands to receive the monthly paycheck .. the problem however is that such persons remain weak professionals, weak in general and .. may be others are doing all the work - including taking care of your own lover !! If you want to feel good - and i mean REALLY GOOD - then you love to feel strong, free and on top of all your happenings around. YOU may truly want to be your own boss, be strong and make your decisions. If you make your own decisions however it also requires acceptance of full responsibility for all your life, action, business or work of any kind. Hence sooner or later you will find out:
there is but ONE way to be happy with all your work and income, that is by doing ALL on your own - your way and by adjusting hour after hour, day by day for ever and ever to the needs of the market, of the world and later on far beyond. This total flexibility however requires that you are your boss AND your producer, that you control and do all .. that all success depends but on one single factor - YOU. because that ONE single factor is VERY easy to control and it is the ONLY factor YOU can control. controlling OTHERS ?? look at how politicians try it ... ending in years or decades lasting warfare - controlling others never was intended by anyone and the very least by God - our heavenly creator and father.
BUT
YOU can and should learn to control YOURSELF - by controlling yourself you can manage all your productivity and direct all the products and services the achieve the final results and goals you love to have ... without any warfare. All needed is self control and self management. of course doing all your self also requires that YOU acquire all the skills and expert knowledge needed to succeed. as a single producer you may have no one else to blame for any possible failure - ego may strongly resist in such situation - true strength however will love to be in charge of your own self in all situations of love and life !!
remember the one doing all work FOR you is the one earning your wife or husband as well - no wife loves to think of having a lazy or weak husband - a strong worker creative and innovative in all his action always also is a good lover with the matching partner !! our daily work is but a learning field for true love beyond our earthly life here and now.
To get a million hits a months may be easy - very easy - if you have a forum with lots of small talk, chat and gossip, or if you host a few hundreds of blogs or similar services on your site.
Why ?
because OTHERS do all the work FOR YOU. hence it never is YOUR traffic, even if the site is your site - thus it never is of any value as feedback for YOUR success and your own productivity or your own potential.
if however you have a one person site and all site consists of mainly self created content, content in form of graphics, pictures, texts, tutorials, howtos, videos, self made recipes, ... then whatever YOU offer is the only "bait" to attract site visitors and if you have a forum you have to assure you know EXACTLY every topic covered in your forums because as a site owner and Webmaster you have sole and absolute legal and spiritual responsibility for anything published by anyone on YOUR site. YOU are liable - legally and spiritually for any gossip, lies and stories that might cause damage - the writer of course will assume full and absolute responsibility as well.
for that reason it is questionable to allow "foreigners" otherwise unknown to you personally - to write on your site or forums. publications only make sense if they are useful, helpful or at the very last truly entertaining and fun. else the resources and work / logistics involved in a site maintenance is far to great to be wasted for gossip.
YET
if you look at most forums a large percentage of all posts are but small talk - creating hits and page views and possibly income from sponsors such as Google adsense or affiliate programs - but no true content to be of real help. large sites such as news groups may have dozens of millions of hits a months - may be millions a day - but what is the value of much of it is intellectual warfare and insults via the web. limiting such forums would also reduce the opportunities for small talk, gossip and intellectual war ...
most - may be nearly all of those using forums or newsgroups may never invest the efforts, money and preparation to have, create and maintain their very own commercial web site out of their own pocket.
when you start your own domain - then please keep than in mind. site traffic only is useful if each visitor gets areal benefit out of your site - in some cases it may be but one clue toward his real search and goal - in other cases it may be a full solution that he finds on your domain. having a domain ONLY makes sense if YOU are willing, ready and true fully qualified expert enough to provide ALL content on YOUR VERY OWN. forums opened then are added value as YOU first of all are the one to give advice - hence much of possible questions are known in advance and thus can be answered BEFORE being posted - either as tutorials, chapters, newsletters OR as posts in your forums. other readers may use your forums to contribute experiences or expertise on their own - but FIRST of all YOU are the only one to provide, create and finance ALL the content of your site - then and only then do you have valid site traffic caused by real visitors RECEIVING from you. receiving from you on a charge basis, donation basis, flat rate, member fee or fixed prices - that all is up to you. since you may invest thousands and ten thousands of hours of work to create and ten thousands or hundred thousands of $ until all is done it is YOUR responsibility to find a way the users who actually benefit have the opportunity to pay / reward YOU financially for services and information provided by you.
for myself i prefer a donation basis since more than a decade - for my present web publisher work as well as any other service i provided before or now - however i see many problems for many people in such as system and it certainly is fully acceptable to work / publish on a member fee or charge basis. modern online payment methods such as credit cards or PayPal and similar existing or future methods make it more and more easy for users to share and contribute for services or information received. all healthy humans surely understand such. when you have a personal appointment with a lawyer for an hour or two - you may easily have to pay 1000+ US$ for a single hour depending on the topic ...
many years ago i needed legal consultation before opening my own PADI dive facility in Germany - as a foreigner i needed some legal advice on how to do as foreigner. while the lawyer gave almost zero direct final answers - the invoice after an hour or so was some 1000 US$.
The very same counseling in many professional topics may be given faster and much more efficiently online, by email, voice conference, video conference, forum or by publishing your expertise online either in eBooks or HTML pages - but the very same expert still needs an income to pay the 6 digit investment he most likely had before BEING an expert.
many professions are ideal for such future online tutorials and counseling such as:
true site traffic is caused by solutions and answers offered BY YOU - learn, prepare yourself, do all on your own to be free and BE PROFESSIONAL in all and anything you do. be an expert and you get your traffic. the number of hits or page views per months may be secondary - the single most important factors that counts are
if you can say YES to any or several above and if none ever has any true real damage or disadvantage of any true kind - then you have given professional expert advice and justified having your web site as well as justified being honored by a contribution of honest size by your customers. If you do so and are working in the right market you may have no or little problems in financing all your online work. the more commercial your field of activity - the more the readiness of your customers to pay a honest amount allowing you true life and real success to a level that allows you to permanently improve all your services, continuing education and investment in better resources and better logistics / hardware and software needed for the work to be fun and professionally efficient.
if true success as an expert is your true and real goal - then refrain from any artificial traffic boosters - but FULLY focus on improving your own expert output and your own productivity. it is a truly good feeling to know that YOU only create your own traffic as a result of YOUR efforts, knowledge and skills instead of having hundreds or thousands in forums creating hits and traffic for you - to support you with their own publishing. look at your site statistics, be critical to your self - be hard on you and demanding - did YOU create the content that attracts far most of your overall traffic - is all that traffic satisfactory visitors that actually received FROM YOU or just clicks to find out YOU are the wrong site ..
when visitors talk / chat or otherwise communicate with EACH others - that never is YOUR traffic - but theirs.
True success is the result of hard work - if you love to have more traffic - produce more content and increase the quality - meet more needs of more people out there and you will see a steady and calculable increase of traffic flowing through your web site. The first hundred hits a day may be the hardest - as you have first to get into all search engines - SEO is well known to you - else you may learn about Search Engine Optimization. You have selected the best possible hosting service to avoid waste of time for hosting problems. Of course you have SSH or at least telnet access to your domain to BE in true control of all.
then it's time to produce more and more - after a while - may be a few years - you may be at 1000+ hits a day - all on your own. by that time you have already produced quiet some true content in demand. demand improves your own motivation to increase your own productivity even further and further. by that time you have a steady flow of web site traffic and hopefully sufficient experience in YOUR field of expertise to know what more to produce - only whatever is in demand and what at the same time is FUN FOR YOU !! work always needs to be FUN ... if your work is fun then you never see at your watch - most likely you even never have a watch again - like myself - I gave my last professional divers watch away more than 10 years ago and started to work until job is finished, with or without eating, with or without sleeping - work until job done - then its time for a break !
by this time of traffic when you have in excess of 1000 hits per day you may set a goal - like 10% monthly traffic increase ... but how to get that ?

for a young entrepreneur it is of absolutely zero problem to work far beyond 18 hrs a day - work and improve, verify your logs to get all feedback for quality improvement - participate in professional oriented workshops and seminars to improve your professional qualification steadily - grow with all creation - improve in all you do and expand your horizons beyond your very own business.
different market act differently - in some markets it may take a few years in others a decade and one day you may be among the top 100'000 or so in traffic ranking of all global web sites - with your very own quality and productivity and free of any fake hits or gossip and small talk to create empty hits. it's only about love and love has to do with what YOU DO for others and love has to do with quality.
It is never the quantity that matters - only the quality of your work that really matters
