Cambodia a destination of another world - Cambodia a country like from another planet. Definitely different from any other country, Cambodia is unique and requires deep love

If you have been traveling the world, if you "have seen all" - then you have seen nothing at all when you arrive in Cambodia! Cambodia is different from any of its neighbor countries, different from the past of Cambodia, different from history, different in language, different in writing, different in culture from any other culture - but more even - Cambodia is totally different in the soul of its people. Just like a world from another planet.

That is the reason why so many visitors either love the Kingdom of Cambodia or look at the Kingdom of wonders just as another strange tourist destination to be checked off their "collection".

Cambodia is a country you either love form the bottom of your heart and soul, all - all people, all provinces, all nation, all history, all music, all loving, all culinary specialties, just ALL ...

Or you find yourself lost here and in a totally wrong country.

My first re-encounter with Cambodia was in the early 1970-ies, hence during the Vietnam war. Yet despite all war activities in and around Phnom Penh, life was so unique and exotic, so pleasant, so loving and attractive, that I very soon decided to come back and stay here for good.

The end of the war changed my plans. My next re-encounter with Cambodia was in the post war years - 1995. By then all my ancient family was gone, disappeared, killed in the atrocities of the post war era. No singel family member survived. While almost all of my family spoke Khmer and French, my visit in 1995 showed me one single old woman in Kompong Speu still speaking French. All other French speaking Khmer were killed in the post war atrocities or fled the country to escape death.

Almost an entire culture destroyed by violent force of war and post war

Now several years later some of the ancient traditions and culture has been revived. Some old style music recreated, some Apsara dances repracticed, ... Yet much of the ancient Cambodia as known to old timers is gone, gone for good. A victim of old US messing around in foreign countries governments. While Old time King Norodom Sihanouk - turned over with active help of old USA - has been reelected by huge majority of its own people under UN monitored elections after the war. All the atrocities of war and post war have been totally obsolete. While old-USA may have disliked a small, free and exotic country, the people itself loved the king. That alone matters. It never is about whether a far remote nation loves a particular country at the other side of the planet, its about what that particular country and its own population loves. Each country alone has a free choice to live - to live its OWN style, its OWN language, its OWN culture and traditions. Even as a kingdom if that is the choice of that people!

The pain of all past atrocities still exists. Nobody talks about the past, yet the traces of all past atrocities in the souls of the entire kingdom's population persists and most likely persists for a very long time until healed by God.

Cambodia is a most painful example of what happens when "global players" mess up other countries out of simple ignorance of other cultures' needs and right of being different form the rest of the world. Cambodia never should have been colonialized by France at first, and later Cambodia never should have been touched by a single US official nor messed up in the Vietnam war between the 3 global warriors Russia, China and USA. Countries like Cambodia disserve to be left in peace, to be honored, to be loved as is! Destruction as occurred in Cambodia is repeated in many other comparable cultures and countries, such as Iraq, Afghanistan, various African, South American countries and other smaller and larger countries of this planet.

To find inner peace, to find God again, to find the way HOME to God, people need the peace and time to explore and experience their very own way of life, their own culture, their own methods to attempt to solve problems. People also need the absolute freedom to learn at their own pace, in their own style. Even if totally different from the entire rest of the world. Only maturity that results from within made own experiences in freedom will eventually result in true spiritual progress.

Now after many decades of war, struggle, freedom and independency fight and finally post war cruelties to top the already painful past century, the country needs peace from all messing around, peace from $ and economy, peace from industrialization, peace to self heal an entire nation and culture.

Cambodia is absolutely NO typical tourist destination. It is a country only for truly loving souls. Visit this beautiful jewel of a country only if you are willing to GIVE love - a giving infinitely far beyond giving dollars. There are damages done no dollars ever can pay nor repair. There are values never measured up by any currency nor any material values of industrial goods or merchandise.

Cambodia is an entire nation needing above all peace, love and to be left alone until the people invite for visitors. Until the people invite, NOT the dollar hungry government and its greedy officials! It is about people, about humans, it is about beloved children of God, NOT and never about authorities and officials!
