Hotels in Siem Reap - Hotel rooms and room rates for your visit to Siem Reap and Angkor temples. How to book or find your hotel in Siem Reap
There are more than 150 hotels in Siem Reap. Occupancy all year is near full, may be 80-90% for lower and middle price range even during "off-season"! Hence booking your hotel may be an advantage if you travel with family or are working and need assured hotel services.
How to find / book your hotel
There are many hotels in the middle range with web sites. Search Google and select a hotel of your choice depending on your budget. Another excellent source of hotel information - the one I choose - is angkorhotels.org.
Hotel room rates in Siem Reap
Hotel Prices vary depending on your demands and comfort expectation. You may find Guest house with fan room starting around 6 US$ and air con rooms 15-20 US$. Starting around 20 US$ up you may expect wifi in room or even swimming pool. My first choice hotel was 20 USD with wifi. After 3 days that hotel was booked out and I went across the road into my present hotel 26USD including wifi in room and a delicious choice of breakfast and fresh tasty coffee, swimming pool, etc.
If you are flexible and arrive out of peak season, then it may be an option to arrive without reservation. I did so because I knew from eMail before that my first hotel was fully booked out for at least some of the days of my visit. Hence I just dropped in. Many of the hotels are grouped in road blocks. In my road block there are at least a dozen other hotels from 6 USD up all within easy walking distance.
Hotel rooms are best paid cash - US dollars or Riel. If you make reservation, then usually advance payment by credit card is required.
All hotels in the range of 20 USD up are definitely VERY clean and comfortable. Food in hotel restaurant is excellent and services most friendly.
If you belief to be high class tourist or travel on excessive corporate budget, there are many huge palace like hotels in the 3 digit price range. You probably need no further information as your money will buy what you need - your agents/bosses will do all your work for you.
A visa trip alternative from Philippines to Siem Reap / Cambodia
A word for all expats like me living in Philippines and coming to Cambodia for an annual visa trip: Life, food, hotels in Cambodia are definitely cheaper than in the Philippines and hotels cleaner and food MUCH better for the same price. For 20-30 USD hotel room here in Cambodia you may expect a hotel quality of the 40-50 USD range in Philippines. However the two countries both are very exotic, very exciting but also very different in most aspects of life - culture, history, religion and much more. Give it a try with direct flights from Clark via Kuala Lumpur to Siem Reap by Air Asia or by Cebu Pacific from Clark to Bangkok and by Bangkok Airways to Siem Reap or Phnom Penh. Cambodia is just around the corner from the Philippine islands.
Love and Bliss
