A most common taxi like transportation is by Tuk Tuk. Typically a small size motorcycle in small size range of 125-175 cc with the back seat removed and a passenger trailer attached. 2 Seat rows facing each other give comfortable place for at least 4 passengers or maximum 6 if the motorcycle engine handle that. Most commonly used for 1 or 2 passengers.

The range or Tuk Tuk trips may be many dozen kilometers as long as road is flat or small hills only. Tuk Tuk are inexpensive and very comfortable. Cambodian Tuk Tuk drivers as very polite and used to drive tourists. Hence Tuk Tuk drivers drive slow to allow very comfortable sightseeing for you.

Tuk Tuk are available at the airport and outside most hotels as well as every where in country on the road. Ask for a price, price always is very modest. There should be NO need to bargain at all. Just remember your own wages, bonuses, benefits and then remember that Tuk Tuk drivers in Cambodia also have family, are fathers and even one day may want to visit your own country as tourist.

Tuk Tuk are always available by trip or also for extended excursions like half day / full day trips. Depending on how many kilometers you plan to drive, a full day - i.e. 6-8 hrs - trip, driving and waiting for you, including some 20-30 kilometers may be available for as low as 15 US$. Needless to say that such micro amounts never are enough for a decent living and thus your heart is challenged to double, to invite for lunch and diner and to tip very generously.

For myself I have successfully setup my own rule to pay Tuk Tuk and other domestic services I use / need for my work the exact same full amount as I earn. Hence my own earning currently is US$ 4.5 to 5 per hour, thus my Tuk Tuk driver gets 5 US$ / hr. All are happy and I have a happy sleep knowing that my own driver has enough money to invite me for a drink ... since he got ALL my money during our time together.
