New job opportunities in a world in transition: Recognize the job opportunities appearing during crisis and create your own job within new opportunities

In a world of global recession or economic meltdown, traditional jobs may disappear for millions of once employed workers. At the same time new job opportunities may occur without being offered to you. You'll have to see or recognize such a job opportunity on your own.

Look for example at Cuba 2009 - in Cuba you still find cars in excellent optical condition and runing technical condition from the 1950ies. Why ? Because the US embargo left the Cubans no choice to buy, dump and buy another new one every few years. The embargo created the potential to care and maintain for many decades longer than a same car typically would run in Europe or USA.

Hence one of the many self employment opportunities is to care, to maintain, to repair and fix existing technical products instead of just exchanging major components with new ones. I mean real repair of that tiny little piece that often is broken but seldom repaired in a modern society of wasteful luxury behavior.

Now when people are short in money, hundreds of millions also will learn again to repair or to have repaired. To maintain existing products for as long as possible. During the past many decades cars where exchanged - running or broken - often as a result of needed write-off to keep excessive taxes low. Many buildings were broken down and rebuilt just to create artificial write-offs for tax reasons. Cars were written off usually in some 6-8 years. After that period the tax value of cars was often 1$ ( one dollar ) and thus no further income tax reducing write off possible. Hence still good looking cars that could have fulfilled the purpose of transporting people safely from A to Z have either been sold for minimal prices or trashed to finalize the 100% writeoff and have a tax deductable reason for a new investment.

Such behavior of course what the ill reaction to an even more ill tax system of ever increasing income taxes. People and business alike started to write off whatever the law left open to reduce taxation. Mental gymnastics of extreme kind have been created to bypass or shorten income tax. Greedy governments aiming at other goals but the wellbeing of all mankind created an artificial need of waste of otherwise good and working condition products as being more profitable than to maintain and carefully run a product for as long as possible.

Even worst - many car manufacturers created cars with "built in rust and self destructive weaknesses" to make sure that a car needs to be replaced after a few years. On one side industry needed to offer ever increasing rust warranties - like rustfree for 4 years or so. On the other side the car industry planned for typical cars to somehow desintegrate after 150'000 - 200'000 kms, more expensive diesel vehicles after some 400'000-500'000 kms or by age after some 10-12 years most cars no longer were considered worthy to be repaired.

The technical level of knowledge about material, physics of engines, durable materials, alloys, safety, strength etc has been far more advanced than the products offered on the market to consumers. For one reason only - to make faster more profits. The taxation and system of write offs helped greedy industrial leaders and marketing experts to persue that goal over decades. Imagine all cars would last like the German democratic republic's "Trabby" a car partially made of palstic and rust free. Or cars with durable alloys lasting a full lifetime just as old fashioned farmer tools work. To be forwarded from father to son, from grandfather to grandson, ... Modern garden tools like spade last often less than a single gardening seasons. It's more profitable to produce something needed by millions if that product needs to be replaced year after year.

Here is need for change. Such huge change that it would be best to get oldfashioned junk industry into bankruptcy and create new quality oriented industries! There is no way to expect an industry or CEO who have produced low life cars for half a century to be changing to the honest side of life within the next few years. People typically need many lifetimes to make such changes. People have been too successful for too long doing corrupt business and prostituting themselves for profit to be willing to change in near future.

New jobs - learn to repair and fix what is in use

If you have been working for the industry during the past years or decades, then you must have learned something. Like using tools, machinery, workign with different materials, different metal alloys, different plastics, etc.

Hence millions of potentially jobless people fearing or facing bankruptcy of their lifetime employers may have the potential qualification to start their own backyard fix-it shop. A car or household appliance repair shop. Learn to fix, learn to repair - but repair the one single piece that is broken or worn rather than to replace an entire unit! Insted of buying spare parts, use damaged unites as a source of reusable spare parts and components whenever safely possible. Be creative, start small, start out of your garage, out of your home, out of your backyard or out of a small tent, rather than to rent expensive office or repair facilities. Learn to start small and learn to remain a small one man or one family business. Learn to be affordable by those who can use and need your expertise. Learn to keep your overhead an lowest possible cost by using your existign living area and home / house rather than renting more space.

Learn to reuse old components insted of recycling old components. Just as the example of car tire reuse shows. There are many other components of today's life that can be reused as is for another purpose rather than being melted down and recycled at more higher expenses.

When major industries go into bankruptcy, often their entire inventory may be auctioned. That may be an occasion for you to get a few tools or entire toolboxes for a few dollars only. Even simple machinery that you may be able to use may be available for 2 or 3 digits amounts instead of ten thousands of dollars.

But consider a few simple rules before spending money

• Pay cash only
• Buy what you can pay out of your pocket only
• Buy only what you really need. never buy just because its cheap!
• Buy what you need at the best quality you can afford with the funds you have in excess at that time!
• Know exactly what you buy, know brand, know make, know material, etc. Learn before buying!
• Own your business! Never allow banks to own you nor your business!

How old maximum can a sewing machine be if you want to start your own small taylor business at home? I have seen many tailors using still pedal sewing machines - a technology some 50+ years ago. For an expert taylor it is of no importance to have all these modern sewing machine-gadgets build in. To create job or business opportunities is the key to mega-industries failure these days. The greed and corruption among CEO's, investors and politicians has damaged their brain and common sense. There is no need to expand and become a global leader dominating a market. There is enough work and space for all to succeed in a small but useful business.

Recognize the opportunities around you - see the need of others to find your own work

Look around your country or neighborhood. Look at the opportunities and see the potential within your own life rather than whining about a lost job, see the benefit of having a unique chance to be free, to be your own boss of a small family or one man business so small and well structured that no administration is needed. A small business that is managed by you, organized all in your brain, where your productivity and creativity has but one goal: To meet the real and natural needs of your friends, neighbors and village community. Focus on your own mini-economy within your family rather than investing in huge national projects run by governments out of your control.

• creative mind
• common sense
• a heart to feel what's right and what's wrong
• a healthy body to physically work
• a healthy nature to live

Use what God gave you for the benefit of all planet. Problem and solution are like the 2 opposite sides of a coin. As long as you keep focused on the problem, you'll never see the solution to that problem. Look at the situation, then ask God for inspiration, clear your mind to see the solution. Take a rest, sleep a night in peace and you may wake up with the God given solution in mind. Be positive - be loving in all your endeavors and you'll succeed.
