Alternatives to child adoption in Haiti or other 3rd world countries - Helping children by adopting kids in your heart and supporting the orphans country

In many countries "orphans" are often no real orphans. Often such "orphans" have one or even both parents but are given away to an orphanage or eventually even given away for "adoption" to a foreign country. The reason often is the same - poverty of parents. Poverty however often is the result of extensive exploitation of such third world countries by "first" world countries during past many decades or centuries.

I have seen such situations of children in an orphanage myself here in the Philippines. Children from remote rural provinces with real family, given away to a remote orphanage in a city. Often the reason is the parents' hope for the children to have a better future than kids may have at home with poor parents. Even if both parents would be death, in third world countries the extended family often is strong enough to have real family members taking care of real orphans!

Man made poverty never should be exploited to export children. Poverty in most cases is self made by our society. Exploitation by foreign countries, exploitation of labor by greedy business men paying illegal underpay. Artificial creation of debts and exploitation of emergency situations to create debts until all property, all farm land and finally even the home is lost.

It is our "first world" politics of past many hundred years that has caused poverty in "third world" countries. It is our all mutual moral obligation to correct and compensate in full any damage and result of previous or ongoing exploitation. At any cost and during what ever time it takes - even generations and centuries to come.

The solution to children in poverty is our own readiness to pay full honest prices for all services and products from 3rd world countries!

The only human way to help orphans or children with poor parents is to support their parents and restructure, refinance and support the poor ones in their very own country. To support in a human and loving way, to help all poor ones to regain financial freedom and achieve prosperity on their own. To support poor families has only partially to do with money. Support of poor families in third world countries starts with all of us being willing to pay honest prices, honest wages for all products and services coming from third world countries.

As long as industrial nations exploit labor in third world countries for just a few dollars a day salary, we need to send real money by the Billions. As soon as we start to pay honest wages - the very same wages we ask or love to receive for the same labor, we no longer need to send money support to third world countries. With the high wages we earn in first world countries - there never could be any poverty and thus never could be any need to surrender or abandon children for adoption to rich countries. With our own first world wages all people in the third world doing dirty work for us as farmers or factory workers would have a more than comfortable life on their own. If we all accept to work for half our current salary, then there is enough money left to pay a honest wage to all the other labor we need from outside our own country.

Exploitation in the Philippines is comparable to exploitation in most other third world countries such as Haiti, Congo, India, Cambodia and most other poor countries of this entire planet. Approximately 1976-77 I spent one year in Haiti. The last few months for a large US company employing some 400 women as factory workers. The daily wage was in the range of US$ 1.65. Producing car radio tuners for Chrysler cars. That is one of those companies where managers earn up to many millions per months and up to millions or dozens of millions in annual bonuses. Often a single overpaid manager earns more in a year than all 400 factory workers together. No wonder Haiti is poor and no longer can support its own children.

Even when hotel employees now may earn the minimum legal wage in a hotel after all problems have been cleared and exploitation appears to be ended. The minimum legal wage in the Philippines and other third world countries is far from honest. There is no way to be proud of paying legal minimum wage. The only honest wages are in the proportional range of your very own wage! Plus minus a few percents for more or less knowledge, skills or experience.

To help orphans and children on poverty, we need to live in the countries in need and share our life

A truly loving woman or man never would take away a child out of his native culture or even away fro existing family, relatives or single parent. Children belong to their native country else God would have sent them to you in the first world. There is no evidence that children in central Europa or USA are doing better in real life, in spiritual life, in family life simply due to the fact that they may have more money or more high tech gadgets or more canned processed food and more debts in life than people in third world countries. Children and adults alike may be far more happy in simple living conditions of their native country amidst a loving social environment, amidst loving extended families. The only thing missing in those families is a honest pay in return for all the valuable natural resources they provide to the outside world or to cities in their own country.

In western countries we have Millions of children in teenage years exposed to drugs, alcohol and missing true content in life. Millions of children wasting their lives behind computers and computer games instead of enjoying real nature and real human relationships with other children. I have seen many more smiling happy children in third world countries than in Europe or USA in my own life.

Third world countries have many most valuable lessons to offer to people from the "first world". Hence to spend a few years or even an entire life or at least the remaining decades of an early retirement life in third world countries may offer job opportunities to learn. To share expertise and to help and support existing families in taking care of their own kids at home in their native and often far more beautiful natural environment than we ever could do when adopting children and removing them into strange and remote "civilizations" socially far behind many third world countries.

May be we could also look at first world countries as first graders and third world countries as third graders - both learning different levels of spiritual lessons. Some higher levels (3rd grade) others very beginner levels (1st grade) ... The real human quality of life in the 3rd world is much higher than the human quality of life in the "first world"!

Instead of giving money - give your life and expertise to dissolve poverty

To help poor families out of poverty takes very little money and little efforts on our side. To get orphans or children from very poor families off the streets into a self dependent happy life may take far less than the cost for an orphanage. During the past 10 years I have observed many street children growing up and becoming young entrepreneurs in young teenage years. Young responsible people living without debts, without mortgage, without credit cards .... When we look at the recent global economy disaster and the global environment pollution. The it appears that their are vital lessons in life most college students of first world countries apparently never learn even at old age.

To my heart and soul it is evident after nearly 40 years abroad in some 40 countries in Africa, Caribbean, USA, Middle East, Asia and South east Asia, that life in third world countries is far more human, far more worthy to be lived and far more love-filled. Above all, most third world countries still offer some real nature - while in Central Europe for example nature is widely modified by humans and to a frightening part already polluted and destroyed.

Happy family life is beyond the amount of money or luxury items you can afford

Never assume that others may have the same values in life as you do. Never assume that having more money or more square meters living area means having higher standard of living. True quality of life depends much more on having a real work such as farm and natural living conditions. Simple self employment as family business with all family always together. A simple but cozy home fully paid in cash. A garden of your own, loving-helping and sharing neighborhood are of far greater value than having a car or having 24/7 electricity at home. Simple life without electricity may be far more happy and far more fun than life with a foreclosure waiting to happen or a life with a loss of job and thus loss of family income pending.

Create your new future and move to Haiti or any other country in need - to help families taking care of their own children

Think about all those alternatives to child adoption and some of you may have a new goal in life - a new destination. To move away from your current country to Haiti, to Congo, Cambodia or any other country with a need for sincere help from the bottom of your heart and soul. The before mentioned countries and many other third world countries all have an exciting living environment and if you offer real life qualifications, it always will be possible to either find a descent job or to have your own self employment, a small family business.
