Airplane preparation of the Cherokee 6 for a private airplane-charter to Pinatubo volcano - outside Angeles city
Since long I wanted to make this flight and suddenly it was time to really charter an airplane and go for. Aerial photos are a specialty I have never made - hence I wanted to start a short charter to get the first basics before going on my next photo session assignment to more remote paradise locations on the islands here.
Repeatedly I tried to contact Werner, the Swiss pilot having the small charter business with 2 Cherokee airplanes - a Cherokee 6 and a Cherokee 4 for private charter flight across the Philippine islands.
Werner was too busy with the recent flight show and hot air balloon show going on the past many days on Clarkfield /Angeles City, just a few hundred meters away from my present working location.
Finally I got him on the cellphone and arranged a flight yesterday early morning before his flight show session that was scheduled to start 10AM
We - gg and me - got picked up by Werner at the hotel - and I watched his flight preparation and flight preparation.

Checking oil for a safe engine and safe flight

Of course also the fuel hs to be checked for water - that's why at the lower section of the wings which usually serve as fuel tanks - there is an outlet to drain some aviation fuel into a control glass and visually inspect for water. Water being more heavy than aviation gas - it would drop to the bottom of the fuel tank. Aviation fuel is colored -. water clear - hence visual verification easy and simple.
Cherokee 6 - some 800 kg without fuel

A charter pilot for small aircraft needs to be strong enough to push his own airplane out of the hangar to get his airplane ready for boarding and takeoff. Werner does all normal maintenance himself and in very special cases calls a qualified and experienced Cherokee mechanic when needed. Hence the job of a pilot requires true professional mechanic skills, knowledge and experience in addition to all other stuff to be mastered.

Safe return after a pleasant one hour flight to Mount Pinatubo - one of the active volcanos in the Philippine islands.
For those dreaming of a pilot career or pilot job on small aircrafts like above shown Cherokee - Werner's Cherokee 4 was about 40'000 US$ and his Cherokee 6 was about 60'000 US$ - used of course. In addition Werner has extensive experience from flying in Switzerland before he started his own charter flight business in the Philippine islands some 14 years ago.
Hence if you maintain such dream of pilot job and charter business -ö one full year of most intense working will bring you the savings to pay cash a used safe airplane of this size and start your own aviation business. Of course before starting your own business you surely will want to accumulate a few years of professional pilot experience - the wide world calls with a few exciting job opportunities. In my past several decades of international working life, I enjoyed the service of professional pilots on a variety of airplanes from helicopter, to Bonanza Beechcraft, Pilatus Porter, DC3, ... etc in exotic countries like Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Zaire, ...
This world is full of exciting jobs, businesses and job opportunities - all you need is the endurance and courage to learn more than average, to acquire skills and knowledge, to invest in your better future to offer a better future to all others and to actually do it by doing the first step and all others thereafter. Your future is in your hands and no one else but you create or waste your future.
Flying is the fastest method of transportation to assess the situation in remote areas, get an overview of new potential location for business or residence, or simply to move from one job to another job when time is critical. For me I have so many thousand things to do for the remainder of eternity, that only the single most efficient method to do a job really is fun and acceptable. Life if far to beautiful to waste it with useless small talk and waste of resources - life needs to be consumed, life needs to be enjoyed every second of time, every pulse of your heart ! Life is meant to be a series of eternal success in doing loving and exciting adventures for the sake and joy of all creation.
Enjoy life - be adventurous rather than boring - to be boring or scared is about the greatest possible punishment you can incur to a potential partner in life. It's all about love - but love needs to be exciting, tormenting, wild and sweet - like life in a tropical paradise. Every day different, every day colorful, every day sunny and every day hot.
Love and bliss
