How to submit your site to ask.com - howto ping ask.com to visit your site

As an additional reference you may want to read the ask.com webmaster FAQ.

To ping ask.com - you need to have your sitemapindex.xml created and properly placed on your site as well as registered in your own robots.txt.

The in your browser you adapt my below URL to your own URL and load the browser page once to ping ask.com.

http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://www.kriyayoga.com/sitemapindex.xml

The ask.com result then should read something like:

"Your Sitemap submission was successful"

Note on the same result page further down, the ask.com statement:

"Ask.com is a proud participant in the Sitemaps via robots.txt protocol" - hence the sitemapindex.xml file is supported - IF - you create one correctly and have the file listed correctly in your robots.txt!
