Gardening with natural material - a water cascade made of giant clam shells

Filipino landscapers are very creative and skilled in using natural materials such as the beautiful water cascade ( water fall ) from one higher giant clam shell into the next lower one.

Each giant clam shell is a small pool of water to accommodate waterplants. Living in a tropical country makes it obsolete to buy or dive for empty shells. Shells die in a natural way and empty shells either are found skin diving or washed ashore after heavy sea.

Gardening with natural material such as rocks, naturally grown wood, bamboo and wild plants is far more creative and rewarding than gardening with plastic and artificial decoration. Try using all natural forms and shapes found around your place when re-decorating your garden next time!
