Restaurants and cafes in Baguio come and go. Everything in this planet is of temporary nature. A few places from earlier this year have changed ownership, closed or changed style of food or operation. While SM Mall on top of Session Rd has lots of smaller and larger restaurants, most of them are of fast food / junk food style and anything but what you'd expect after a day of hard work. You are entitled to cozy ambience and excellend food in exchange for your own hard and honest daily work. Below is an updated list of the best restaurants in Baguio city. Places may change and in a few months all may look different in Baguio's gourmet restaurant culture. Places to eat out / dine out in or to socialize however are important. Socializing, meeting new people and making friends or finding love for life is a firm part of God's creation and life on earth.

Many years already I come to Baguio for days or weeks of most intense work. The only truly fine gourmet restaurant open 24 hrs is Pizza Volante. Any time late after midnight when I usually finish working - Pizza Volante is my first choice - or nothing at all - for a fine Pizza or pasta.
Pizza Volante has a fine selection of fresh made delicious Pizze and fine pasta - all at very low prices and offered by friendly and very efficient staff. At Pizza Volante you usually find at least some 10-20 guests even at 02-05 AM when almost all city sleeps. IN typical dining hours early evening, it may be difficult to get a seat at all. Pizza Volante very obviously has conquered many gourmet hearts among Baguio's citizens and visitors.

Pizza Volante certainly is one of the very cheapest gourmet restaurants in all Baguio. A very clean kitchen, very efficient and fast staff - always smiling !!
Just ask for the flyer during one of your visits - try what you love most - then you know what to order for home delivery.

A very old traditional Chinese restaurant with excellent crispy Baguio vegetables in the variety of Chop Suey and other fine Chinese dishes. The best Chinese food in Baguio.
I love all kinds of vegetable Chop Suey - spicy with lots of ginger ... here at Mandarin as well !

Please note that in recent years other places in Baguio also have ranked high - but while some gourmet food places progress - others close down or have dropped in their quality of food and service. I have included only those places that I can personally verify and recommend from the bottom of my heart. Some of the above Cafes or restaurants I have used myself for many years to my fullest satisfaction. All above gourmet places have earned their place on this page by quality only - all promotion on this place is available only on the basis of quality and never for any amount of money. I love to promote those people who have devoted their lives to excellence in quality, friendliness and honesty in business.

Many factors are important all together. Here my criteria I have developed after some 35 years of working and traveling in 40+ countries on 4 continents, including some of the worlds finest gourmet countries - such as Cambodia, Lebanon and Thailand, as well as exotic food places such as Caribbean islands, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and of course many traditional European countries well known for their highest standards in gourmet food.
