The first coconut palms have become victim of the ocean today. While there is NO actual storm here - just wind with moderate force around Bft 4-5 - the disappearing reef allows higher waves to the beach and beach erosion continues and the damage becomes noticeable.

To spend a weekend on Boracay now during rainy season would certainly be a waste of time. Most activities stop during bad weather and without sun there is no fun. After weeks of rain, a few days with some early day hours of sun, now we are back to rain, wind and clouds day and night.

A few photos have been taken from same areas I photographed weeks before. Compare and see how the famous white beach is slowly eaten up by the ocean. The first coconut palms became victim of the water today. The beach road gets narrower as well at some points.

At my preferred place on Boracay since years - Mabini's Place, nice nipa huts directly on the beach - the waves are "knocking" at my bedroom. Friday is departure time ...
