El Nido - direct daily return flights from Manila to El Nido by ITI
Quiet unknown are the daily direct flights by Island Transvoyager Inc. from Manila to El Nido and back to Manila. at least 2 daily flights in both directions - sometimes multiple machines same time with 19 seater Dornier aircrafts.
My last travel back from El Nido to Manila - I hade multiple choices:
- El Nido by bus - approximately 8 hrs dirt road - to Puerto Princessa and then any of the many national carriers to Manila. I brief check however showed that some flights were already booked out several days in advance
- the ferry boat directly from El Nido to Manila was already fully booked out for the next 2 dates
- last option to save time was ITI ( Island Transvoyager Inc. ). In El Nido I booked my ITI flight at Arts Cafe the official booking agent for SEAIR and ITI in El Nido
I chose ITI - a return ticket one way to Manila was 6100 PHP and the flight and service definitely a positive surprise. ITI primarily is for the passengers of the Resorts out on El Nido's expensive island-resorts ( mostly around 200 US$ UP ) but ITI now also offers return tickets and apparently also return tickets for the same route.
Originally ITI offered return tickets El Nido to Manila only because it had more load from Manila to El Nido than on return flights because the El Nido inbound flights are used for supply PLUS passengers as well, while outbound flights back to Manila are only for passengers - hence the resulting free capacity back to Manila.
According to check-in counter personnel at El Nido airport, flights can only be booked maximum 5 days in advance. 15 kg baggage allowance, 1 hand carried baggage inside cabin.
ITI departure lounge on El Nido airport was a large open air ( open walls ) nipa house with free self service coffee or tea and free small tarts. Arrival Manila airport was a red carpet arrival in a private area of Manila airport just some 50 meters away from the high way leading to the regular airport gates - hence easy for taxi on arrival and departure. arrival and departure in Manila is in a private departure/arrival lounge and private airport gate just for ITI, fast - almost instant - service just like real first class passengers on regular flights might receive.
Flight duration El Nido - Manila was some 80 Minutes across hundreds of islands from El Nido toward northern Palawan, El Busuanga island, Mindoro island across Laguna province to Manila.
Looking at alternate flights from Manila to El Nido, there would be only the 2 times weekly flights by SEAIR via Busuanga - one way about 8000 PHP.
ITI has no known website at this time - booking is done by phone, FAX or directly at the office in Manila
