Taxi prices in the Philippines
1. A regular taxi - too small for your entire family - is in the range of 70-80 $. AIRPORT TAXI HAVE FIXED PRICE. Street taxi have meter OR CAN BE NEGOTIATED for a honest fixed price. Taxi meters in the Philippines are clearly TOO cheap/TOO LOW and do NOT allow for a descent life for taxi drivers. I usually pay double or much more for taxi when using one - taxi drivers too have hungry children who love to go to school ..... !!
You find an airport minibus-taxi at some higher price around 100 $. Keep in mind the distance Manila airport - Angeles is some 100 km and crosses entire Manila city which may take up to 2 hours in rush hours. Taxi have to pay tool for the express way - BOTH directions - back home empty as well! The chance for a taxi driver to find a guest for the ride back to Manila is near zero.
2. YES - I wrote the article on Kota Kinabalu and the entire thousands of pages of the Cyberspace Ashram as well. I used that hotel twice so far and would use it any time again when needed.
3. Coming from Kotakinabalu - best still is to stay Angeles again - Manila Hotels are more expensive and the city far more polluted. In Angeles you may find mini-van for airport drop off.
Else
You may take Manila city Hotel such as Swagman Hotel. Manila or others as you may find by Google search. Manila Hotels are more expensive, louder and far more polluted - but often included free airport pick up and drop off if arranged in advance.
God bless
