Where to find hand carved wood art and wood artisan products ?

Along Marcos Highway toward Baguio City - approximately 30 kms before Baguio City you will find a stretch of a few kilometers length with more than a dozen small wood carving artisan business along the road. Many of them are family business and experienced in made to order hand carved furniture or ornamental hand carvings.

As you see from below overview-photos, each hand carver has its own style or specialty. Some carve more wood animals, others are specialized in products for US market - such as full size or oversize Indians or eagles, most are producing beautiful hand carved tables and chairs and other naturally grown pieces of carved wood art work.

Most of these Philippine artisan have no Internet nor cellphone - hence the normal method to order is to go to this place on Marcos Highway, select your choice, pay cash and arrange for your own transportation by using logistic companies or hand carry smaller objects in your car. Since most of the dealers are making a much higher profit than the actual producing artisans have - your honesty is challenged to make yourself a honest offer rather than bargaining and pushing the prices down you are invited to add to the price by giving a truly honest price. Remember - one day even whole-sellers and dealers may have to die and may wish to return home to God ... a truly honest life as dealer will help you to face all obstacles on your way home with love and nothing but true love. Myself I have the habit of adding up to 100-300% to prices asked, because most of these prices are far too low compared to the asking price in Europe or USA!
