Currently and since several months you see in my blog the reminder:

That applies for all people in all situations of life.

For example rice fields and rice cultivation. Who says that the tradition of the approximately 3 Billions choosing rice as their main food source is right ? Who ways that because rice is good or healthy rice needs to be the only healthy food source ?

The total work, efforts, energy and also chemicals and fertilizers applied on rice fields is huge compared to the amount of rice harvested per field ( per sq meter ). There are other mixed gardening, mixed culture systems more suitable, more natural and far less work intense than the current widespread global rice production!

Having such huge terrace systems and fields with irrigation systems as the global rice field farmers have created means in no way that rice is all that grows on these very fields. Instead try to switch from rice all year long with 2 or even 3 rice harvest perfield per year to a mix culture.

Either one rice harvest during actual rainy season when all fields might be too wet for most other plants to grow, PLUS during dry season corn, potatoes, vegetable, salads or any other food source fitting into the soil and light / water combination of that season.

Even moving completely away from rice plantation in many fields toward other crop or food by avoiding the flooding of the ricefields on a permanent basis and flow only as needed once every several days or weeks for irrigation.

Tradition as a must for rice farmers to do all the heavy work is no justification that rice always needs to remain the primary food source. While 3 Billions use to eat mainly rice - that also means we have approximately another 3 Billions living on NON-rice ...

God gave us all a huge choice of food as healthy source for our needs for vitamins, calories, minerals, etc. Delicious, tasty and healthy alternatives we all just need to try to enjoy.

What ever job you select to be your own boss, you have to realize that being your own boss also means getting up earlier and working longer without overtime, without paid vacation or other social benefits. Being your own boss means exactly you get what you give. You earn what you work for - nothing more and nothing less. Hence being your own boss may result in having a far more stricter boss than during any employment situation before.

Early in my life I started to be my own boss for most of my life with a few exceptions only. I definitely have been kicking my own butts far more intense and far more often in any single day than all combined "bosses" ever in my entire life. To succeed in your own business requires perseverance and consistence focus on your goals and on the most loving means to acquire your goals. A life without goals may fail - a goal without love to achieve will fail as well. It is the combination of aiming at your goals in a most loving way that creates the basis of true and lasting success.

It is totally unimportant how big the project you have achieved by the end of your days on earth. But it definitely is important how loving you have been all the time while working toward achieving your goals!

Working in nature like the rice farmer here - all alone - setting his own speed , deciding his own breaks, being in peace with himself, God and all world definitely is a great joy in life. Whatever results out of your work is what you and only you have done and achieved.

If someone tells me "my father is farmer" or rice farmer, then I have such picture in mind and I know that that daughter or son has reason to be proud of his/her father and mother. Farmers may have a simple life, but being your own boss is a reward far above millions of $ per year. No salary ever can pay you equally to the situation of such a farmer doing his job in freedom and in wild clean nature.

This farmer knows b y the end of his life time that he has done zero harm to the planet, zero harm to the society, to the environment or to nature. All he has done is working hard to feed thousands of others with the healthiest and most nature food - with God made food.

Working hard never is an obstacle. Look at how many sportsmen workout many hours, almost daily, shifting tons in weights, jogging, walking or swimming miles each day. Hence many city / office workers have no physical work at work but work out after work. Hence hard work, sweating hours is no obstacle but rather a challenge for most.

Hence hard work never is rejecting work but work that makes you feel good, feel strong and truly healthy. The reason why farmers and all similar self-employed is the freedom to work in open air, fresh clean air and most importantly to be own boss. To be own boss means you can have your cup of coffee at any time, as long as you love, no boss bossing you like blue collar employees would experience in factories across the world.

To be your own boss leaves you freedom to do anything your own way. The simple fact that you have freedom to work or to relax in most cases results in even harder work because to HAVE the freedom of making a break gives you more power to work harder, to perform longer and better than if you are a slave-like employee. Thus the price of being your own boss is that you may have more work to do all on your own - but in most cases this more or harder work always is considered a positive part in life.

Being your own boss means that the entire results of your work, overtime, sweat, pain, investment comes directly proportional back to you. No fees deducted, no high paid CEO receives millions or hundreds or millions from your work before you get your tiny share. Being your own boss, you earn what you work. This rule lets most people work much harder, much longer, overtime, night time, holidays and work much more difficult jobs without complaints and without negative feelings. As long as more and more people move to city, to office and factory jobs, we may encounter the need for fewer farms producing more food to supply all needs. Thus large farms managed by fewer people apparently require large machinery that is expensive and at times little environment friendly.

If however like in earlier centuries most people have at least some real garden and many more have a mini-farm for alternate farming in combination with a second tech or office job, then farms can again become more quality oriented, environment friendly and much cheaper.

In small farming the efficiency is much greater and the result is far more natural and organic food. In small farming almost all can pleasantly be done without noisy and expensive machinery. Personally having grown up and worked from small farming without any machinery to large mountain farming with a variety of machines, I clearly prefer small scale farming all done by hand like the farmer in his rice field on this photo.

Whatever you do with love can easily be done mostly by hand. Modern farming however does allow us to use helpful machinery to facilitate our work in farming. However we have to apply common sense and sound judgment about what is useful and helpful in machinery and what modern machinery creates excessive expense, pollution and even worst destroys out peaceful silence in nature.

Working like here in a clean natural rice field is a peaceful work that allows you to feel God's presence, to pray to God while working or just to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the scenery. Keep in mind that all these dozens of pictures before and after this photo are taken from same spots just within a few hundred meters.
