Acacia trees are used for a variety of purposes. Excellent hardwood for furniture - marvelous honey from acacia flowers and a huge shadow tree growing from both sides of roads across the road to give shadow to large areas of highways on Philippine roads.
Thousands of acacia trees are found on the way from Dau - Angeles on the way to La Union - both sides of the high way but also in most other areas of the low level tropical zones of the Philippine islands.
Typical size found along the roads îs about 60-80 cm diameter with maximum sizes typically around 1 mtr.
Height of such a large acacia tree is around 20 mtr and similar or greater width. Acacia grows about as wide as high.
