Amarillys - Amarillys flowers outdoors or Amarillys for indoor use- how to grow your own Amarillys seeds
Amarillys is one of the many beautiful tropical flowers suitable indoor as well
Easy to keep and care - all you need to remember is that the natural home of Amarillys is tropical. Hence Amarillys loves dry season with zero water over several months with slightly lower temperatures around 20-30 degrees C and a really wet rainy season with temperatures 25-35 or more degrees C.
The blossom starts after the long dry season - after the first few heavy rains. Create that artificial heavy watering and soon later your Amarillys will blossom.
Natural Amarillys like here the beautiful white and red Amarillys blossom many weeks and up to twice a year in the tropical mountains of Banaue province.
How to get hundreds of Amarillys out of one Amarillys ? If you are lucky and can place your Amarillys outdoor during summertime while blossoming - then honeybees do the job for you ... without honeybees you'll have no seeds at all by the end of blossom season.
What if you have no honeybees ? then you play honeybee yourself ! You can be a "honey" for your lover - hence also for flowers. How ? Gently and with love - just like you play your lover!
During fresh blossom-time of your Amarillys:
Clean and dry your hands - then very gently touch one of the many pollen carrying stems of the blossom to get some pollen on your fingertips - then gently touch with the pollen carrying finger the tip of the pistil of your same Amarillys blossom.
A few weeks later you will enjoy filled seed capsules with up to hundreds of fertile Amarillys seeds. Wait until the seed capsule opens - then collect all seeds and pace in moist fine soil - covered by about 1 cm. water regularly and soon later you will have (almost) all seeds growing.
Since you get plenty of small seedlings - it is best to place the seeds several centimeters apart to allow sufficient space for the small baby plants to grow strong before moving into final place.
