Native village in the center area of Boracay island
Native village - most houses made of nipa roof and bamboo

Happy life usually is more easy in simple conditions such as here. However for true deep happiness freedom and space also are required.
Quiet green and peaceful living off the road
Peaceful and green. Abundant tropical vegetation and amidst all nature a few nipa huts
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:24:09 PM PHT
Life without nature is no real life. For health mankind needs healthy wild nature around the living area. Nature is the source of most powerful healing energy - help nature and nature helps you. The best help we can offer to nature is to leave nature as is - wild!
No more place for farming on the island
No more place for farming - just a narrow area for living is left for the native population of the beautiful tropical island
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:25:06 PM PHT
A long time ago - some 20 years ago - there was plenty of space for families and kids on Boracay. Place for farming and gardening. The the businessmen came and with them the tourists and all social peace is gone in favor of a few million dollars profit.
Most people here still have a more healthy living environment than typical city population
Despitre the little space around the nipa huts - most people here still have a more healthy living environment than typical city population
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:25:15 PM PHT
It's never the quantity of space that matters but first of all the quality of space. The ocean around the island provides ample fresh air. The narrow island keeps traffic volume low - we have but one main road on the island with limited small size vehicles - mostly tricycles.
Sunny and windy most of the year
Wind keeps mosqitos away and air temperatur comfortable even in tropical heat near equator.
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:27:28 PM PHT
Sunny and windy most of the year
Even among the poor ones there are some even poorer than poor and living in most simple nipa huts barely water tight
With business came social injustice - with wealth and fortune came poverty.
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:27:41 PM PHT
Wealth of a few ones always is created at the expense of the majority - the native population, once owner of the island is now pushed into near worthless smalles areas of the island. The ridiculous bargain price they received from investors for the land is less than 0.1% of the real worth now.
Once a long time ago ...
Once a long time ago ... this island was once nearly a paradise island
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:28:05 PM PHT
Once a long time ago, before the arrival of businessmen and the tourists, this island was once nearly a paradise island. Now Boracay first of all is a tourist destination - a tourist destination is usually destined to be used and abused until all is gone and all business move to the next virgin destination.
An islands supermarket - the source and supplier of all real needs
A small *superstore* offers all you really need for life - everything more is usually junk
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:48:46 PM PHT
Happy life is when all love all - in a happy life the needs of people shrink and shrink. It is quiet safe to say that the needs in material goods is inversely proportional to the amount of love actively displayed and acting in the life of mankind. This small superstore has about all you really need for a happy honeymoon on the island.
Cockfighting is a natinal sport for Filipinos ...
Cockfighting is a natinal sport for Filipinos - even here on the island we have a cock-farm
Date/Time: Wed 15 Feb 2006 04:49:46 PM PHT
Cockfighting is a natinal sport for Filipinos - even here on the island we have a cock-farm. Cockfighting is a very typical sport of cowards and coawards are in abundance here. A typical joke scenario here is the SWAT team or some special toiurist police all running to shelter as soon as the first rain drops fall ...
Hence Filipino enjoy watching others doing hard jobs or fighting - like cockfighting to the death end of a cock

Environment consciousness of surrounding neighborhood decides over life or death of a small lake like this one on Boracay island
Date/Time: Thu 03 Aug 2006 03:49:24 PM PHT
Small lakes like the Boracay fresh water lake depend on healthy clean environment. There is no flow through of water - hence all lake cleaning has to be done by natural UW fauna and flora as well as the surrounding top side vegetation.
Nature can absorb and neutralize a whole bunch of toxins and waste - however there is a limit to all and hence mankind has to stay within the natural potential of nature.
Living on the water
Since thousands of years mankind has been living on the water - The temptation of dropping all waste into the water
Date/Time: Thu 03 Aug 2006 03:50:41 PM PHT
In some countries - such as central Europe, Switzerland, Germany and Austria - villages built on the water or at the water's edge have been well known since many thousands of years.
All of those ancient villages on the water or at the water's edge had one in common - they all dumped all their daily waste and trash into the water
During my active SCUBA diving instructor time I often took some time off for treasure hunting or artifact collecting. Civilizations living on the water always dumped all into the water. Today as well. In ancient time all household goods were made of natural material, hence all trash into a lake was made of natural material and thus bio-degradable.
Trash of ancient times turns into treasures for today's artifact collectors.
Trash of modern times however turns into a death penalty for today's nature as most of our household goods are made of NON-biodegradable materials or even worst of straight forward toxic component, fatal for our environment as well as for mankind.
Self discipline is the key to keeping our environment alive for the remainder of time. Self discipline also includes to refrain from shopping goods or cleaning agents of known dangerous or toxic nature.
Excellent Feng Shui - Living directly on the water is peaceful and refreshing
Fresh energy and free flow of winds = excellent Feng Shui for living
Date/Time: Thu 03 Aug 2006 03:51:58 PM PHT
Feng Shui for such habitats at the waters edge of course is excellent. That's the reason why so many people all around the world love to live next to creeks, ponds, rivers, lakes or ocean.
Boracay inside - thousands of blossoming bushes, plants and orchids year round
Look at Boracay's inner beauty - take a walk inside - off the common track and see the natural beauty Boracay has to offer

Take a walk as I do or rent a bike to explore the inside island beauty of Boracay's tropical vegetation.
During rainy season the tropical plants blossom less and prepare for next dry season
The typical flower season is dry season. During rainy season like now - May/une until October/November most plants focus on growing. Some however like the ones shown here, blossom all year round.

Boracay High Way - north bound
That's Boracay's High Way - northern end toward the beach all the way northern end of the island
Date/Time: Sat 05 Aug 2006 02:55:29 PM PHT
No trike to get there, engines too weak to get uphill and breaks to weak to get safely downhill on the dirt-road - that leaves walking, mountain bike or motorcycle as the only means to get on the high way up to the northern end of the island. No way to get lost - there is but one high way on the island from south to north.
Boracay's hidden beaches - jewels of the island
More than white beach - there are many white beaches on Boracay
Date/Time: Sat 05 Aug 2006 03:01:02 PM PHT
Boracay has far more to offer than white beach. Many hidden beaches all beautiful, white and clean. You can take one of the sailboats to get onto a hidden beach - or by motorbike if you know how to drive.
Boracay hills - the home of native population
Hidden in the mini-mountains - hills north of the island are many native small farm houses amidst jungle like growth.

Boracay also is tropical - as soon as you drive away from the crowded white beach area more and more tropical nature and beautiful scenery awaits you.
Enjoy
Some 30 years ago Boracay belonged to all these native Filipino
All that is left for native population on Boracay is a few sqm in the hills

Pushed away by rich business men and investors - small lots in the hills is all the ones happy island population has for living.
All the beach properties now is in the hands of investors and rich ones. No more fishing, no more farming. Just hotels and resorts on all good land.

Green tropical vegetation - Boracay island
Too dense to walk thru - the ideal habitat for nature
Date/Time: Thu 17 May 2007 10:37:08 AM PHT
Without such wild dense vegetation all the small animals have no more habitats. Hence if you have a corner of garden to spare - let all grow as wild as nature wants it to be to give shelter to all beautiful small wild life that belongs to our plant.
Jungle's beauty to keep us alive
The beauty of all jungle is the result of absence of mankind
Date/Time: Thu 17 May 2007 10:37:17 AM PHT
As soon as mankind gets involved in nature - the beauty starts to diminish. One essential lesson of our life is to leave nature alone as much as possible and learn to integrate ourselves into nature rather than to impose ourselves on nature.
Nature can survive without mankind eternally - mankind will die without nature instantly - understand that difference and act or behave accordingly.
Boracay's tropical lush vegetation
Such beautiful green places offer shelter for our beloved butterflies, birds and dozen of other species.
Date/Time: Thu 17 May 2007 10:37:32 AM PHT
Boracay has beautiful butterflies, humming birds and other tropical life - all need shelter and a place to live because all the modern resorts offer no longer any natural living environment for any for of life. All living space of nature now is restricted to the few small hidden jungle places like this one.
Living in harmony with nature
Originally before all tourism started - all local natives from beautiful Boracay were once living like the few families shown here.
Date/Time: Thu 17 May 2007 10:38:03 AM PHT
Natural living = happy living. Fruits in abundance, vegetables behind the house and an ocean full of seafood ... that is history. The happy past of all island habitants has been replaced by the destructive part of business world. Only a few hectares natural and mostly untouched tropical vegetation has survived the past 20+ years of tourist development on Boracay.
