Tamarind

Tamarind is a spice ingredient used in traditional Thai curry paste recipe, but in the Philippines Tamarind also is used to make delicious sweet and sour tamarind candies.

Tamarind's natural taste is slightly sour - hence tamarind is used where ever a slight sour touch is needed in cooking.
