after months of searching, traveling totally approximately 1000 km across the country from La Union to Baguio, Visayas, Angeles City, Virra Mall in San Juan - Greenhills, and various other parts of Manila ..... making phone calls, SMS, email to various "reputable" large stores and centers - without finding a really CURRENT version of firmware and after searching the web for update sources and repair centers in the Philippines for my Nokia 3650 smart phone - an earlier partial upgrade to firmware version 2.41 was done in San Fernando La Union - in a small store inside the old old market and was leading to a partial improvement
.... finally on October 14th i was lucky enough to find in Manila a small ( may be 2 x 3,5 meter ) quality repair store for cell phones to make my upgrade to the newest version 3.16.

How much it costs ? i paid Peso 800 for my firmware upgrade to the really newest available version and was very happy. compared to the many travel, phone calls, eMails i made without success before in search of update facilities - and considedering the many crashes and freeze ups i had before - i consider this a honest price for a friendly quality service !
How long it took to upgrade my Nokia firmware ? there have been other customers before me - with upgrades as well - hence i was waiting approximately 20 minutes, the actual firmware upgrade was only about 5 - 10 minutes by special griffin hardware and software for this flash upgrade.
How to find it ? Very easy ! Robinson's Place in Manila is a huge place, several stories, hundreds of quality stores. Every local taxi driver should find that building. once inside - ground floor - search for the "Padre Faura Wing" - ask some of the helpful guards. once you are in that wing - the section called Telecom World is U-shaped with approx 50 small clean and orderly cell phone stores. almost all have their business-names properly displayed above their small business. as it is U-shaped - if you walk clockwise the U - then Excel Phones will be near the end of the U - on your left side. if you enter from the other side the U-shaped Telecom World section in "Padre Faura Wing" - then of course you will find it early ( may be 10 meter from the beginning of the cell phone U-shaped section ) on your right side.
Robinson's Place Manila is a nice place where you may find many other useful things, services and products within one single building.
